The Venice Fishing Pier is located at Brohard Park, in Venice, FL, which is connected to the famous Sharky’s On The Pier. Its large 720-foot length and 20 foot wide make it the perfect spot for fishing and soaking up the rays of south Florida. The waters below can reach depths up to 18 feet. The Pier is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
Fishermen do not need a fishing license to fish off the pier. A maximum of 2 fishing lines is enforced though. Shark fishermen are limited to one shark per person, to preserve the local wildlife. They ask that you honor the quick catch & release policy.
About halfway up the pier, you can find Papa’s Bait Shop. Inside they sell fresh & frozen bait, fishing tackle, drinks, apparel, sunscreen, and ice cream. They are open daily if the weather permits.
Just outside the Pier, there's access to 6 picnic shelters, 2 sand volleyball courts, a golf course, a pavilion, and public restrooms. Prohibited things include pets (excluding service animals), bicycles, rollerblades, tents, tobacco products, alcohol, and glass containers.
The Pier also offers rental items such as a rod & reel and Florida’s Snow Shovel. The Snow Shovel is used to sift through the beach's sands to find sharks' teeth and other amazing shells native to the region.
