Venice Waterway Park holds a beautiful scenic trail that runs parallel to the Intercostal Waterway. Once you've finished the five-mile route, either by bicycling, jogging, or walking, enjoy an extra 23 miles of trails by way of the Legacy Trail, located near the Historic Venice Train Depot.
If you are looking for a place to stop and rest, the trail offers a plethora of benches, shelters, and picnic areas that look out onto Florida's native wildlife.
Don't forget to bring your furry animal as well! At Venice Waterway Park, there are locations for your dogs to play and dog clean-up stations with trash receptacles littering the trail, so you never have to carry unnecessary items with you.
If you enjoy bicycling beside wildlife and waterways, you will love the group bike rides offered year-round and up to five times per week. For premium access to private group rides, the park also offers three leading bike clubs to join; Coastal Cruisers (must be 18 years or older), Sarasota Manatee Bicycle Club, or Sarasota County Off Road Riders.
After you've concluded your bicycle excursion, feel free to lock your bike in a parking site near the waterway's trail. And be sure to thank Venice Area Beautification, Inc. for developing such a beautiful way to spend an afternoon or evening.
