First Established in 1981, this facility is a non-profit with a heart for saving as many birds as possible. Save Our Seabirds is one of the largest rescue sites in the state of Florida, with almost 5,000 animals rescued and rehabilitated per year and over 200 permanent residents.
The main goal of this fantastic organization is to rescue and rehabilitate ill or hurt birds, releasing them back into the wild once they are cleared and healthy. Their mission for their community is to educate as many people as possible on preventing injuring seabirds and preserving the state's habitat.
If Save our Seabirds cannot rehabilitate the bird enough to release it back into nature, the bird is sent to a living museum, a permanent home in this organization's Wild Bird Learning Centers.
For children of all ages, especially kindergarten through 12th grade, fully accredited field trips are available! These trips are outdoor, nature-based and
are meant to promote lifelong learning and good physical and mental health.
For college students or recent college graduates, internships allow for hands-on experiences in rehabilitation, conservation, education, and support services.
