This unique circus in Sarasota, Florida, is a non-profit that gives back to its community every chance they get!
The circus' mission started back in 1927 when brothers John and Charles Ringling moved their circus business to Sarasota from Connecticut. Since then, their main focus has been less on entertainment and more about using the Sailor Circus to change the historic area of Florida for the better.
The mission of Sailor Circus became crystal clear in 1997 when they incorporated themselves and became a non-profit and started focusing more on their performing arts.
Today, at least 80 percent of ticket sales are set aside to help the Education Program for children, the Humor Therapy Program for the elderly in care facilities, and the Circus Academy.
While Sailor Circus entertains the Sarasota areas, they also include their neighborhood by offering many skills classes like Aerial Silks for ages eight to adult, Flying Trapeze for ages five to adult, and Junior Sailor Circus for ages eight to fifteen years old.
