History Park of Punta Gorda is run by the Punta Gorda Historical Society and was opened in 1999 as an outdoor museum. The museum consiss of a collection of historical structures surrounded by beautiful gardens.
Buildings you can see at the History Park include the Historic Punta Gorda Train Depot, Women's Club, and the 1880s Trabue Land Sales Office.
They also host a weekly farmers market. The market is open year round and contains the best local food and artisans from the area. You can shop for everything from local fresh Florida produce, breads and pastries, local flowers and plants, to food from the local food vendors. Local vendors also showcase artisan products they have made, such as ceramics, clothing, unique gifts, art, jewelry, soaps, and candles. On the first Sunday of the month, they also offer a vintage market featuring antiques, jewelry, textiles, and more. There is literally something for everyone here.
