With over 150 animals to explore, the Big Cat Habitat has much to offer to its community and the sanctuary of exotic animals. They were founded in 1987 by Kate Rosaire and became a non-profit by 2005. The goal is to give a safe home for big cats, exotic animals, and some domesticated animals. The Habitat provides educational information on the importance of species confirmation. They are dedicated to doubling the lifespan of all their animals on site.
They offer yoga with animals. Each yoga experience includes the yoga session and a single-day pass to the Habitat. Guests are encouraged to bring towels and yoga mats. Refreshments and snacks are available. The sessions are friendly for people with all different difficulty levels. The three animals they offer classes with are tigers, fox lemurs, and lemurs.
The Habitat offers two different venues that are available for parties, weddings, baby showers, etc. The Safari Party Area is ideal for small groups. It is located next to the Cat Walk and is a private covered area. The Liger Lounge deck is perfect for large events. It’s only feet away from the big cats. Both sites include electricity and seating options.
After visiting the lions, tigers, bears, primates, birds, and petting zoo you can grab lunch with Chef Sam at the Big Cat Bistro. Although known for the best burgers in town, they also offer Philly sandwiches, veggie burgers, and chicken. Catering options are available.
