Port Boca Grane Lighthouse Museum
The Port Boca Grande Lighthouse & Museum is historical, built in 1888 and lit on December 31, 1890. The Port Boca Grande Lighthouse, has guided many vessels into Charlotte Harbor and protected American troops from German submarines during World War II.
In 1980, the lighthouse was placed on the National Register of Historic Places. Since then, it has had two renovations: back in 1985 and recently in 2017. The Port Boca Grande Lighthouse & Museum is affiliated with the Barrier Parks Society and the mission is to explore and preserve national and historic treasures.
There are climbs and tours available and an online gift shop to purchase apparel. Also, the Port Boca Grande Lighthouse is available to rent for a special occasion!
